Core Elements Higher Education Resource Center offers programs and services to assist scholars in their postsecondary journey. Core Elements is a one-stop-shop for all of your higher education needs. Core College & Career Readiness: Here at Core Elements, we understand that creating a college going culture is a process. Therefore, we offer a year round comprehensive program designed to provide high school students with the essentials they need to properly plan, prepare, and transition to college. There is no GPA, income, or residential requirement (the program is hosted in the Metro Detroit area). The curriculum is designed by grade level to sufficiently meet the needs of participants. The cohort meets monthly to develop and implement a plan of work to ensure adequate college planning. Please note this program has fees. 2021-2022 Registration Form

Core Essay Writing Boot Camp: College admission essays highlight a scholar’s personality and supports test scores and grades. This boot camp was designed for rising seniors to help jump start the college application process. Upon completion of the bootcamp, students will walk away with a better understanding of the significance of the admissions essay as well as a working knowledge of the components of the essay. Also, students will use actual questions from the common app and/or their college of choice to develop ideas and draft an outline. 

Core College Parent Academy: The college planning process is most effective when parents participate. We offer Parent Bootcamps to assist with the navigation process. This series of webinars provide parents with the tools needed to stay abreast of deadlines, make sound financial decisions in relation to paying for college, and assist with student transitions. Choose from a variety of synchronous and asynchronous workshops to assist in managing your scholars’ postsecondary journey.
